Introduction

On the first stage of develompent EasyCode has been oriented on identification of the goods by their trade mark - to bar code Gepir. EasyCode provide user to receive information on the goods (country, trade mark, manufacturer, brief description of the goods, and other information given server Gepir) is direct in shop using mobile phone or Pocket PC with connection to the Internet. Thus if the device is equipped with a camera having established ours the program - client, it is possible to use mobile device directly as the scanner of a bar code.

Work above system is conducted within researches of computer sight, recognition of images, detection and identification of surrounding objects.

Bar code EAN-13 represents a graphic representation of unique international number of goods EAN/UCC-13 as, suitable for automatic reading. Value of number EAN/UCC-13 is duplicated with the Arabian digits in the bottom part of a bar code.

Number of goods EAN/UCC-13 is unique internationally. Over 900 thousand companies in 128 countries of the world code production bar codes EAN-13. The International Association of commodity numbering GS1 consist of 96 National organizations in 98 countries of the world. National organizations - members GS1 appropriate unique registration numbers to enterprises - members.

Registration number (global code) the enterprises is displayed on packing of production as the first 9 figures of a bar code (for example, 460700952).

Number of goods EAN/UCC-13 has the following structure:

• 3 first digits - code (prefix) National organization - member GS1 (for example, 460-469 - GS1, 482 - GS1 Ukraine, 540-549 - GS1 Belgium-Luxembourg, etc.);
• 6 next digits - the registration number of the enterprise appropriated by the National organization;
• 3 next digits – the serial number of production inside the enterprise;
• Last 13-th digit - control code. It is calculated from previous digits.

The general information about GEPIR

GEPIR represents a sheaf of the electronic catalogues created by national organizations GS1 of the different countries, mutually connected among themselves in one world catalogue. For communication between these electronic catalogues the Internet - report http and XML (Extensible Markup Language) is used.

For today in the catalogue take part about 100 national associations GS1 which represent participants of system EAN-UCC of the majority of the European countries, and also some countries of Asian - Pacific region and Latin America. The amount of participants of project GEPIR increases all time.

The data which are given by GEPIR catalogue, are precisely structured, contain a minimum of the necessary information about the enterprise: company name, the address and contact phones (phone, a fax, the address of e-mail). Simultaneously there is an opportunity of reception of the additional information, for example, the reference to Internet - page of the enterprise, or the contact person.

The important feature of catalogue GEPIR is that the information is given the user of each country in clear for him with an internationalization that solves a language problem.

EasyCode Structure

• Server

  The server carries out connection between clients and server GEPIR, forms requests and interprets requests, conducts the accounting operation, gives the various service information to clients, to advertisers and partners.

• Clients

  EasyCode clients are owners of mobile phones and pocket PCs with Internet access by WAP or HTTP protocols, and also the personal computers with popular browsers.

  If the mobile device is equipped with the camera and supports J2ME it is possible to install image-recognition application which will request the information from a server by the scanned bar code.

  Also it is possible to request the information about bar code manually having entered it on wap (web) pages. If requested bar code is found in base GEPIR the client will receive all available information. If requested code is not found, the client will receive analytical recommendations of EasyCode system or related information.

  As GEPIR and GS1 are the noncommercial organizations the given information provide client free-of-charge (the user pays only for using tariffs of its provider or the mobile operator). Client get small advertising message with the requested information.

• Advertisers

  Clients receive some advertising with the useful information about requested bar code. Advertising is related and linked to requested information about goods. This link has been provides by EasyCode server.

  If you are interested in advertising the company or advertising of goods you may register and get the account on EasyCode server.

  Than you may issue your advertising stylishly and laconically, choose regions, time and frequency, to specify the necessary information on your goods. The statistics of dispatch is always accessible to the advertiser.

  Thus many people can receive your advertising directly on the mobile devices, with the useful information on the interesting goods.
